'Tarzan Swings Down Under!
AMERICAN actor Chrisopher Lambert, who shot to fame in Greystoke, The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes, is tipped for a major Australian film role.
While other cast members are still to be confirmed, Christopher is due to arrive for shooting in September.
The film, Fortress, is a project from Australia's Fortress Productions and is being financed from overseas.
"The film is now in preproduction," a spokesman says. "It's a futuristic thriller and Christopher will be playing a major role.
"At this stage there are certain to be some Australians in the large cast."
Christopher, 33, was born Switzerland and worked at the London Stock Exchange and Barclays Bank before becoming an actor.
Preceding his role in Greystoke, he appeared in several French films.
He has also starred opposite Isabelled Adjani in the film Subway and appeared with Sean Connery in Highlander, directed by Australia's Russell Mulcahy.
Fortress will be shot aroud the Warner Bros./Village Radshow studios on the Gold Coast.
Other projects, including the Ali MacGraw telemovie The Savage Sea, are also being shot at the studios.
