The spotlight is on comedy in this carefree caper film. Gus Cardinale (Christopher Lambert) and Bruno Daley (Christopher Lloyd) are two jewel thieves who find more than they bargained for when they steal the Byzantine Fire. This ruby ring is the prize possession of the Turkish nation, and a gem rumored to carry an evil curse. Before they know it, Gus and Bruno find themselves pursued by the Turks, other jewel thieves, Armenian Liberationists, and relentless Chief Inspector Mahoney (J.T. Walsh). Bruno's daughter June (Kim Greist) wants her two favorite men to go straight, but straight to jail seems their likely fate as they scramble to keep one step ahead of their pursuers. The action, romance and laughs are non stop.
